ahh...I missed that pissing match. it has been too quiet on here for the last couple of weeks. I'm waiting for the new radio wars to start for the fall.

Zagnut seems to hit it on the head.

Fo, I thought after that last pissing match you were in, you would have been gone for good from around the board. staying away for a month didn't help. everybody on here knows you are a CC Houston insider.

CC should have learned by now nobody wants homogonized formats and jocks that don't have a clue.
also, I think the dentist called.
______________

Well, I can honestly say I never thought the thread would turn into that, when I started it, heh. T'was an interesting turn of events however. Now if we could just figure out who those two really are, it would be really interesting....

new poll.....those two just backroom nobody's with too much time and too much pride for their company? or higher ups who just like to throw ego around?

cheers,
radioloon

What a sad comment it is that we must put re-runs on this board just to have an argument posted. If we must argue and continually bitch about something wrong with Houston radio......well ok.....I'll start.

Ok Tiller, what's the deal with The Wave's refusal to play Oriental artists?! Do you really think you're serving the Houston community which has some 20% Asians but limiting your airplay of Keiko Matsui, Hiroshima and other fine Oriental artisits? Smacks of racism to me!! So what do have to say for yourself Jazzboy?!?!?! Your station doesn't even play ads for any of the terrific Chinese restaurants we have here in our town. I suppose you have an allergy to shrimp fried rice or something huh? In my humble opinion this is definitely a license violation and as soon as the fortune cookies come to the table I intend to bring it to the attention of Commission. So just be ready, CRACKER!!!!

Oh, and please tell Donna that my love for her will never die. Thanks. Buddy!!

Oh.....and..........RACIST.........NAZI!!!!!!!!!!

David,

Thanks for getting it. Now I have a whole list of great restaurants to try. Might I also reccomend, in no particular order:

Fung's Kitchen (Sharpstown Area) (In house Music System)
Lai Lai Dumpling House (Chinatown - Bellaire)(Sunny)
New Golden Palace (Also on Bellaire......best Dim Sum in Houston!)(No music)
Hong Kong Chef (In Bellaire. Nothing fancy but great egg rolls!)(Sunny)

I added the radio stations heard in these places just in case somebody bitched that this thread doesn't belong on the radio board.

Re: Top Ten Chinese Restaurants (A Must Read??)

Still waiting for the REAL show of ankles, mate.

P.S. Ming's on Montrose for Chinese eggrolls, but Mai's on Main at Milam at midnight for Vietnamese rolls with mint and cilantro and a dab of Sriracha (*that really hot red stuff)* Beats out Jenny's Noodle House with a bang. And BTW the Vietnamese food in Houston is amazing, if it is a mite bit different than the Chinese and Hunan.

I'm glad you explained about adding the radio stations. At first, I thought
you were telling me that 2 of those restaurants had lots of windows that
allow the sun to come in. I know it's sad, but I'm not joking!

When I used to work in Houston, I lived off of Harwin and Beltway 8. There was a great Dim Sum Palace (looked like a packed Asian airport with people pushingg their way in) where I first ate duck tounge. Also there was (maybe is) an Oceans of Seafood (I think- been about 4 5 years) that was excellent to eat after a drinking binge at Big John's.

Hey Colonel!

I just found this post. Both Keiko Matsui and Hiroshima are some of my favorites. You know how it works. It's all in the computer. We both follow orders. :) (Well, somewhat)

I've got to work on that racist thing though. I've just got quit being one. Seig! LOL.

Seriously though, there is a great little chinese resturant on Gessner between Bissonet and 59. It's closer to 59. It's called the China House. The only bad thing about it, they play Sunny on their stereo system. I tried to get them to change, (which I've been pretty successful at, by the way)but, to no avail. They are very friendly though. LOL. Great General T'saio's Chicken. The sauce is to die for.

As far as buffetts are concerned, Lucky Village on Westheimer at the Beltway and the China Bear on 59 in Stafford is good. However, not between lunch and dinner at either of those. You have to get there when the food is fresh. The Calamari is succulent. They have a satellite service for their music at China Bear. I only go to those places with Lance and Trey, the Tiller boys. They eat like horses. (Well, not boys anymore, really. Lance is 25 and Trey is 20) Damn that clock, anyhow.

I will certainly pass that along to Donna.......ahhh yes......nothing like Donna McKenzie.

In fact, you and I should get to gether sometime, have dinner and tell each other some good radio lies.

Cracker Jazzboy (Thanks for the 'boy' part. It makes me feel younger.)

While you're in the neighborhood, try Singh Singh on Bellaire, just before Beltway 8. Try the Chinese sausage fried rice and the Imperial Rolls.
______________
