Cumulus Will Distribute CBS Sports radio in 2013

http://www.cbspressexpress.com/cbs-radio/releases/view?id=32154

KNBR and KTCT are named in the CBS press release for Cumulus O&O's to air CBS Sports.

I noticed in the Dial Global 2011 Annual report that CBS Radio News contract for Dial Global will end in 2017. Does this also mean that CBS radio news will move with Cumulus inc. I do know that there are CBS O&O's all news stations like KYW, WBZ, WNEW and WINS do have Cumulus content from ABC-E and ABC-I in their reports. I do know KYW and WBZ carry both ABC-E/I (Cumulus feed) along with CBS News content. I do know at this time KTCT and KNBR carry both Fox Sports and ESPN radio.

That's five years out. A lifetime in broadcasting. They'll start trying to figure that out in '15 or '16.

Maybe by that time, CBS will have convinced the FCC to expand market ownership. So then CBS can aquire Cumulus and others!!

That's funny for now. I doubt CBS could buy Cumulus at this time.

Actually Cumulus wants to buy the CBS stations (or at least the major ones), and CBS would like to get out of the business, but they want way more money for them than Cumulus will pay.

If Uncle Mel leaves Sirius/XM might he want to get back into radio station ownership again by buying the CBS Radio Stations for himself and his business partners? He did have a lot to do with building the CBS radio group into what it is today, did he not?

If this goes though

What will happen to the CBS stations like KCBS??

Nothing. Why are people all worried about this? CBS is planning a radio sports network. Cumulus is interested in carrying it. CBS has provided all kinds of programming services over the years. Heck, they once owned Shadow and Metro Traffic.

If CBS wants to get out of the Radio industry. Wouldn't they have to split the company the same way that CBS inc split apart from Viacom in 2006. If Cumulus won't buy the CBS Radio stations wouldn't CBS Radio division have to ressurect the Infinity Broadcasting name or Westinghouse name and split it from CBS inc. I want to see the article that says CBS wants to leave the radio business
