Curious about commercial time on talk format

Always been curious about how much of any given hour of a talk show is actually left for talk. Are all talk shows different, or is there a standard? I love talk radio, but it just seems like to me there are too many interruptions. I realize money has to be made. Is it different througout the day, or is daytime talk held to the same standard as night time talk? Just wondering.

Talk radio actual time blocks:
Spots - 15 minutes
Host reads verbatim what the White House wants him to read - 9 minutes
Blame the Clintons no matter what the topic - 8 minutes
Host talks about how great he is and how he gets everything right - 7 minutes.
News break - 6 minutes
Phone calls - 5 minutes
Host yells at producer for headphone issues, can't hear caller or can't find news story from the White House - 4 minutes
Bumper music from eighties song you want to forget - 3 minutes
Host mentions where he ate so he can get next meal comp'd - 2 minutes
Hang up on Liberal caller who got through the phone screener - 1 minute

Each talk show is going to be different from station to station depending on Management. I produced 85 South in the afternoons on WVCC 720 AM for Clear Channel of Newnan/LaGrange. Keepin' It Real with Uncle Rich and Benji and 85 South used the same format (again..different managers may use different formulas for each show depending on the station and market), which went as follows for each hour:

00-01 min-ClearChannel News (National)

01-04 min-GNN News (State-recorded at the bottom of the previous hour and played at the top)

04-05min-Local News

05-06-Local Break

06-15-Segment 1 (9 minutes give or take 2 minutes)

15-19- 3 minute Local Commerical Break + 1 minute Traffic and Weather

19-30-Segment 2 (11 minute segment give or take a couple minutes)

30-34- 3 minute Local Commerical break + 1 minute traffic and weather

34-42 -Segment 3 total of 8 minutes

42-45 - 2 minute commmerical break plus 1 minute traffic and weather

45-51-segment 4 -6 minute second

51-53 2 minute local break

53-58:50- Segment 5 5 minute 50 second segment

58:50-00:00 (top of next hour) 1 minute traffic and weather + Legal ID

Or conversely an hour on Air America...
Talk about how Bush lied/people died: 20 minutes
Talk about how corporate America is second only to Bush on the scale of evil: 10 minutes
Promos for other Air America shows: 5 minutes
Whine about success of right-leaning radio: 10 minutes
Pontificate about Right Wing Bias of Fox News: 10 minutes
Annoint (choose one, depending on host: Hillary/Obama) is the savior and health care and huge salaries should be a right guaranteed to every American, regardless of choices made in your life.: 5 minutes

(notice no time left for commercials, since they have no sponsors)
