Curious...Anyone here listening to WPRV 790am?

I know I'm not.Nothing interests me there really. This station should just be spin-off so to speak to WPRO.Since my all news idea was critisized, How about all normal talk off the bird.

Maybe move Scott Cordishie to 790am on Saturday and offer Arlene a 3 hour saturday gig on WPRO.That is if she is not running for governor....

I keep forgetting about 790. It's kind of like WHJJ. I know it exists, but I can't find a compelling enough reason to tune in.

I was listening to Joe Scarborough here and there (when I would remember), but I never did get into the habit. Maybe it's like Sky said...not compelling enough to keep tuning in.

Actually, my current "Flavor of the Month" is on 990 WALE. I've been finding Big John Bina's Afternoon Drive "Jukebox" program a real treat! He's been dusting off stuff I don't think I've heard around here in about 35 years!...stuff like Ray Stevens, with "Everything is Beautiful"......Anne Murray's "Snowbird", or "Candida", by Tony Orlando & Dawn.

As for compelling?......What could be more compelling than tuning in, and wondering if the station's going to be ON THE AIR?......LOL.

They're not oldies anymore? Geez... that didn't take long.

I see they're airing the Dave Ramsey show. This is a very good syndicated show about money that's not very well known here in the Northeast (despite being on 350+ stations nationwide). Solid advice that I think more people should take. Not your typical financial show.

If you're still jonesing for oldies, forget radio. Just go to http://www.hylitradio.com. Best oldies station on the internet... hands down.

His show airs on the big 1080 in Hartford. Granted, it's relegated to tape delay on weekends when there's no Red Sox baseball, but still...

While I agree with much of Dave Ramsey's financial advice, his socio-religious extreme conservativism does not play well in Blue Rhode Island and Blue Massachusetts.

It's ok. I post when I'm sleeping. That is why most times I don't make any sense. I'm sleeping right now.

Im pretty sure most of posts are typed in the middle of the night, first thing in the morning before they have thier first cup of coffee.Comming in from a hard shift at work.So I understand why there are alot of mistakes in the wording sometimes in the posts.I know I make enough of them.

I missed that Big John was on WALE too. Why the hell is he bothering? He obviously doesn't need the practice. He doesn't need to network, not that being on WALE is networking. Don't get me wrong. I think he belongs on Providence radio, but WALE? It's gotta be just to fulfill the need to be on anywhere. He should've stayed weekends at Cat Country.

Not necessarily......

Big John's situation can be easily compared to a veteran star ballplayer playing for a top shelf classy ballclub (Cat Country)...but only being used for pinch-hitting and late-inning defense...In essence...feeling like nothing more than a spare part.

On the other hand, for a badly struggling ballclub (WALE)...Big John instantly becomes the team's biggest star (apologies to Steve Bianchi)...and gets to play everyday in PM-Drive.

For whatever reason...I happen to think Big John is sounding better than he has in YEARS.

Yes I listen to 790 WPRV for the Yankees games. I have always enjoyed the play by play of John Sterling. Suzyn Waldman is ok, but Micheal Kay was awesome with John in the 90's, and Charlie Steiner was also good. As John says, BALL GAME OVER, YANKEES WIN!, THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!
