Curious omission... CBS?

I've not heard an update on the CBS fire sale, but...

Separately, CBS announced plans to sell 50 radio stations in mid-sized markets to increase its focus on such large U.S. markets as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The company sold 40 stations in several smaller markets in 2007.

Anyone else notice that Texas (Markets 5 & 6, 10 or so stations) is missing?

Obviously, a very savvy and historically aware person at Marketwatch.com has accorded the proper respect to the Republic of Texas by not including Dallas and Houston stations in the count of U.S. properties held by CBS!

Literal or figurative oversite, it does present an interesting question: Would CBS sell their local radio cluster and focus more on their east/west coast operations, and if they sell it, whom would it go to?

Funny...

Hey Slambang, aren't you in Houston? I'd rethink that statement...after all we certainly know what great things are constantly happening at Cox Houston.... ;D

If CBS is going to exit market 5, market 4, in terms of revenue), where they are at the FM ownership cap, and with arguably the strongest regional economy in the country, then they are going to exit radio altogether.

Once again, just to point out, CBS has NOT in any way stated they are even considering leaving Dallas. Just because one writer at one news site takes liberties with the facts doesn't mean it's true.
