Current Northwest Windstorm - radio blackouts

Not so fast, Nwz. My pirate station went off for about 45 minutes due to a very short power bump, probably just long enough to shut the computer off (I was out of the house at the time). Computer powers the supply for the transmitter for situations like this, otherwise you get dead air. A silence detector which shuts the transmitter off after about 15 minutes of no audio is also in the line, to handle the rare computer freeze up.

See? There's some good pirate engineers out there.
