Current SIU R-TV students

If you work in radio in the Carbondale area, do you know if many SIU radio-TV students still try to get work at a commercial station before they graduate? That was a high priority back in the 70s. Just wondering.
 
I don't know how hard they're trying with the commercial radio stations, but I know that the newsroom at WSIL-TV is full of SIU students.
