Cursed TV Universal remote makers

So, which of the different brands of Universal TV remotes is cursed?

The ones RadioShack sold in the 90's were pretty bad. And my luck with Mitsubishi remotes was always zero.
 
The remote to my Sanyo TV was just fine until it was damaged in the May 2010 flood. The TV itself was high enough off the floor, and was, and still is, just fine. All my other remotes (on the same end table) survived just fine.
