I hear CC will be doing some cutting in November.

Ch ch ch changes!

1-The morning show is out to make room for Bob and Tom.
2-PD Craig Chambers will be out and programming will be overseen by Steve Fixx at KKRW in Houston.

I'm sure we'll be hearing more.

Not doubting your sources, but CC has been doing some research about KZEP and someone must know that it would be hard to see Bob & Tom doing anything but less than average in San Antonio. Big mistake. Of course, they would save $$ and with so little overhead KZEP will turn a tasty profit. They just had a decent book and got rid of a bunch of salaries under Lotus, so perhaps you're right. Syndicated morning shows always make a station sound so scitso.
 
You are correct about syndication, but I have worked for CC in other markets and I've seen these moves before, but you know that Bob and Tom are heros in CC. KZEP will be TOLD to put B&T on and it Should happen by Jan.
 
If that's true, San Antonio will basically lose out. I remember something about "radio stations serving the market in which they were licensed." It's a shame that concept has gone away.
 
I think Time to make Room For THe Bobby Bones Show. Tom and Bob or whatever. The Bobby Bones Show out of Austin, Texas is growing in Markets... I think somewhere between 4-7 New Markets coming in January of 09.

well I think we all know how screwed up the San Antonio market is now Austin is getting there to. I either listen to the stations up out of Austin or listen to my mp3 player when down in San Antonio. I just thinking a prime example was of 102.7 when they did that flip from one format to another back about three or five years ago. Clear channell has done the same thing in Dallas making cuts and penny pinching.
 
Touchdango may not be far off. Bones signed a new deal at KHFI based upon promises CC would pipe him into markets aside from Austin and Wichita, Kan.
 
I know for a fact that cuts are coming....not just at CC. Some depressing things are about to happen. :'(
 
I imagine that you are talking about the cuts at BMP?? Another WHO CARES! Thomson Brothers fired!?!?! ooh no!!!! I bet if ANYONE read that they would say either "who is that?" or "I didn't even know they were on the air". BMP is an abortion of a company. It's where people who don't have careers die. We all know that.

Local CC has been pretty quiet with the "budget cuts" unlike the rest of the company. I hear they are waiting till January still to make their changes to KZEP. A LOT of boring dead weight there.
 
Can't help but wonder what it might be like if Companies were not allowed to own so many stations in a single market.
