Reported by a post'er on Facebook just now. Will post confirmation and arrangements here when I get them. RIP, Cuz.

Rest in Peace Cuzzin' Linnie. Many fans & friends will miss you.

I join his many fans and friends in mourning the loss of this remarkable air talent. He made KKDA (Soul 73) a must-listen during afternoon drive for me. He obviously loved what he did and shared his joy with his listeners.

Used to love to listen to the "Cuz" when I could late at night....

A fav story of mine about the Cuz.

When I first started at KVIL in 1978 (yeah, I know...), Marc Avery worked with us. Shortly thereafter he went over to KLIF to do nights and every night was followed by Lennie at midnight.

One night Marc invited me to hang out with him while he was on the air at KLIF. This was long after the "good years" of KLIF, and I had been up there a few times before, but was still interested in hangin' out at the "Mighty 1190".

As midnight was approaching, I asked "where's the Cuz"? Marc said he usually is there at the last minute. Little did I know.

Marc's last song is counting down and in through the control room door busts Cuzzin' Linnie in stride. He walks past saying nothing, over to the console. At that moment the last song is ending on the air. Cuz hits the next cart which is "All of My Love" by Led Zeppelin. With no headphones on, he begins his shuck and jive, "K-L-I-F, Dallas, it's 12 midnight with the Cuz....." , does and does a very long rant and rave and finishes the break with "...the Club is OPEN!", hits the off button for the mic and in the monitors blasts the first second of the vocal of the song! He walked it up perfectly, turns to me, sticks his hand out and says, "Hi, I'm the Cuz."

Classic Pure classic! Lol

Sad to hear and honestly I didn't realize how much of a legend he truly was. My favorite memory of Cuzzin Linnie was back when I was doing traffic on Soul 73. I remember the plane didn't go up that day for some reason and so I was doing reports from sun-baked car during the July heat. Cuzzin' Linnie asked me on the air, "Hey Carruth with the traffic truth what are you doing right now in this glorious sunshine?" I said I was just relaxing trying to get a tan. After a short pause, he said "Well I doubt you'll ever be as dark as me but keep trying." Made us both laugh.

He will be missed.
