CW affiliates pissed 20% viewers streaming

Oh well, nothing on that network is worth watching but The Vampire Diaries. Other than that its a waste of a network. Right now

ABC has Dancing With The Stars on Monday.
FOX has American Idol on Tuesdays or Wednesdays with Glee

Most of the CW shows are 22 to 24 episodes long this season and some are poorly written. Ill be surpised if Ringer gets renewed.

I was watching HEART OF DIXIE, then they went into repeats for about 7 weeks.
Now, they are back on but I've found something else better to watch.

The CW seems to be killing itself.

Rather see UPN or WB at least they had shows worth watching. CW i barely watch outside of ROH Wrestling that airs on the channel (CW28 Providence). IMO WPIX & WGN rather return to their pre-1995 TV Schedules than waste 10 hours of air time on the CW.

For me living in the Chicago DMA, I'd rather see WGN-TV go back to being an independent than stay CW. WB seemed somewhat better, but I believe WGN-TV would do better as an independent, since during nights with sportscasts, sportscasts don't have to be farmed out to WCIU 26.1 as much. For nights without sportscasts, they did well showing movies in the 7 - 9pm CT timeslot. I don't know if they would go back to that on weekdays (they have on weekends), as WGN America abandoned that years ago (I remember when I had DirecTV, & when called WGN Superstation, WGN-TV had WB, while WGN Superstation had movies).

The CW is doing worst than both UPN and/the WB ever did and they had less to work with.

The CW is broadcast on a low bit rate sub channel in a lot of markets. You can get better video quality streaming their shows online through the website. I find it hard to believe their ratings are lower than My Network.

I don't. My Network runs proven programs that were/are successful in their original runs and is having relative success in rerunning them. The CW is running first air garbage that they are paying to have produced which cannot be cheap and is yielding very few eyeballs. The CW is not long for this world I'm afraid and it's eventual collapse will not shed any tears from the general public.

It's the new world and businesses need to stop being so mad and get on the bandwagon.

It's like both Target and Walmart are reporting a huge increase in people coming in to look at items, then buying them off the Internet. Best Buy is saying this is the main reason for closing a bunch of their stores. People look at computers and get the feel of them and buy online where the price is best.

An Australian network said, it's ridiculous for major motion picture studios to delay releases in this day and age. He says, that whenever you delay a major release people get fed up with waiting and download it illegally. He goes on to say, while there will always be illegal downloads, if you make the release available immediately to everyone, people would pay for it.

As one poster here said, "they should be grateful..." and they should, but they should be figuring out a way to sell ads into the streaming. Or some other concept to market.

It's the same thing in the 40s and 50s when Hollywood thought TV would kill movies. And it did, well it basically killed the "B" movie business.

From Burns and Allen (radio)

Gracie) Rita (Hayworth) when George gets a TV show you can be a guest on it.

Rita) But Gracie, I'm in motion pictures, I don't want television to succeed. Oh wait a minute I see your point

Couldn't read the story.. but I think I get the gist of it. So here's the thing.. the affiliates have every right to be a bit upset that the network is offering the shows online for free in such a way that it takes the viewers away from the affiliates. On the other hand, the network is looking to maximize the overall viewership for these shows and offering them in a place where viewers seem to want to watch (online) is only logical for them. Fox does this too, but they also let the affiliates in on the action by letting people to go the affiliate websites to watch the shows as well. The CW needs to figure out a happy medium between the two.

just had to work "pissed" and "streaming" into the same thread title, eh?

But wait the CW Stations that are owned by CBS like KBCW can just follow the KCAL9 Model or if the Flagship CBS station like KPIX or KCBS2 wants to pre-empt CBS shows for Local Sports like the 49ers preseason or Raiders they can just put CBS shows to KBCW and KCAL9.

How many of those have any kind of local sports besides regular season NFL?
