CW Could be on the Move in Phoenix as Soon as Next Week

Also, KNXV 15.2 dropped the "CW Arizona" bug and replaced it with the previous one - "Antenna TV 15.2 Arizona." I believe they might have also went back to 480i as well.
Apparently they haven't taken the CW Arizona promos out of rotation on 15.2 yet. They just played a commercial for "Courtside Saturday" basketball (ACC?) Saturday at 10 AM on "CW Arizona."

Here some theories might consider: if Nexstar wants to end the deal with Disney for Philly and Houston newscasts; Disney might buy some Nexstar and sidecar owned ABC affliates along with NewsNation, The Hill, RewindTV and Antenna TV.so Nexstar can legally buy WPIX and KAZT. Tegna might buy the Nexstar and sidecar owned stations since Nexstar already reached the 39 percent cap so KUSI can join CW with KFMB 8.2 will join MyNetworkTV from Fox.

Disney doesn't buy stations. And Nexstar would have to sell a lot of them to get WPIX, a VHF serving 6% of the country, under its own name.

There are indications that Nexstar might end up starting night news for WPHL this year. Unlike with KIAH, though, doing that gets them political ad avails in a swing state.

By the way, the AZTV logo is still on 7.5. Wonder how much longer it remains there or if 7.5 remains in the long term.

Consider that Iger is considering selling ABC last year until Nexstar and Byron Allen swooped up even if Disney insited theyre not for sale. Does Disney even care about ABC News than ESPN or the entertainment assets?

So it is the end of a locally owned independent television station, replaced by a company who couldn't run the UHF station it originally had in town several years ago.

Still showing 15.2 as HD on my TV. Antenna TV programming is all 480i, so you really can't tell difference by looking at it during Antenna TV programming. My guess is they will probably downgrade 15.2 back to 480i over the next few days.
They're back to 480i as of this morning.

Also, the AZTV website list the annual World Day of the Sick mass as being broadcast on AZTV 7.5 on Saturday, 2/10 at 10:30 AM with the AZTV 7.5 logo. My guess is they are probably keeping the AZTV branding on 7.5.

Nexstar sacrificed KASW, among other properties, in order to purchase the Tribune group, which was before they had an interest in (The) CW.

Speaking of KASW, anyone know if Cox reversed the channel move and placed them back on Channel 6, while bumping KNXV 15.2 back to 95? It would be a boneheaded decision if they didn't do so, but this is Cox we're talking about.

As of right now, Cox still has Antenna TV on 6 and KASW on 95.

Just checked 7.5 at the top of the 9 PM hour and they aired a promo for Big Bang Theory at 6 PM on CW7 follow by a promo/top of the hour ID for Family Feud at 7 PM - 9 PM on AZTV7. So I guess they forgot or haven't gotten to updating the top of the hour ID/promos on 7.5.

Iger took ABC off the market entirely several months ago. It's not happening. Period.

Just checked Hulu + Live TV, and KASW is still going out as the "CW" station. Hmmm...

As if ppl needed to be reminded they're owned by Nexstar, Arizona Daily Mix had a reporter from KAZT's new sister station in Las Vegas (KLAS CBS), Sasha Loftis, donning the mic flag for their show, an annual thing Nexstar stations do around the Super Bowl.

Next, AZ Daily Mix will have a "local" news and weather update from KLAS. Then, Nexstar will start producing a 9pm newscast produced by KLAS of course, airing on KAZT.
