CW Could be on the Move in Phoenix as Soon as Next Week

Coyotes and Scripps have put out an official Press Release about the move. Also they are switching around the Cox Cable Channel numbers, KASW 61 is moving to Cox Channel 95 and 15.2 is moving to Cox Channel 6.
The cable channel swap makes no sense at all. 61 is keeping the higher-rated programming, while 15.2 will have the low rated combination of Antenna TV and The CW.

My guess is it is probably part of whatever deal they worked out with Nexstar. Also, according to Coyotes writer/radio reporter Patrick Brown, they don't know yet which Channel the other Pay TV providers in Phoenix will carry.

Back in March 2019, Nexstar was selling KASW and 7 other stations to Scripps part of Nexstar/Tribune merger due to
FCC Broadcast Ownership Rules and no more than 39 percent of all U.S. TV households.

KASW is off YouTube TV, replaced with the national CW feed. No 15.2 or 61.
I told ABC15 on their social media that this was a rush job. I know they want to put the Coyotes in front of more eyeballs, but they needed to let Cox know that Arizona 61 should have a better channel position than their CW/Antenna TV mutation.

I noticed during the game tonight on KASW Arizona 61 they ran a message across the bottom of the screen saying Arizona 61 is the new TV home of the Coyotes, but nothing about The CW moving to 15.2. Meanwhile on 15.2 they had a message across the bottom of the screen saying the Coyotes games have moved to Arizona 61. Scripps appears to not care to say anything on 61 about The CW moved to 15.2.

Scripps Phoenix's CW affiliation is pretty much "lame duck" status now.

KNXV 15.2 had a little bit of technical difficulties switching to The CW after the Coyotes game tonight. After Post-game Show they play a few minutes of commercials as usual then black screen, raw clip of one of the Kings goals, black screen again, Monday Night Football on ABC feed, and finally The CW feed already in progress.

Can Fox or some other broadcaster like Bryon Allen can make a play for a CW Phoenix affilation? Also this from Bloomberg and Seeking Alpha: Byron Allen looking at Scripps stations, seeks funding - report (NASDAQ:SSP)
I remember Fox's WPWR-TV in Chicago was a CW affiliation back in 2016 from WGN and lost affiliation to Weigel's WCIU-TV in 2018, Fox's KUTP-TV is already MyNetworkTV O&O.

First, Scripps want more money like Gray Television and Hearst. and second, Allen media buy Scripps? not going happen.

smaller markets btw

The CW is on the move again as come February 1st, it'll be on Independent station KAZT (AZTV 7). For me, I don't watch much CW programming, but this is a downgrade as being in the West Valley (Goodyear/Litchfield Park), it's the one main channel that I have trouble getting via antenna. That being said, with the amount of syndicated programming it gets, seemed like only a matter of time before AZTV7 got affiliated with a network like The CW. Wonder if this is going to be the first step towards Nexstar full-on returning to AZ & having a CW O&O, also would create a nice Southwestern cluster with the L.A., Las Vegas, SLC, Albuquerque, & Denver markets all with Nexstar owned stations. Nexstar Sets Time Brokerage Deal With KAZT Phoenix

I don't think KAZT will become a CW O&O because of FCC ownership limits. I would say maybe Mission Broadcasting could buy KAZT, but they are currently having problems with the FCC over the pending WADL sale in Detroit because of Nexstar's agreement to take over operations when the sale is completed. Looks like Nexstar will be taking over operations of KAZT, but I think it will remain under Londen Media ownership, at least for now while Nexstar and Mission resolve their other problems with the FCC and the DirecTV antitrust lawsuit.

You're right: WADL-TV is remaining MyNetwork TV.

Only one question remaining: Family Feud is moving to new earlier time at 6pm or late night time slot due to The CW set up 7pm MST time spot on Feb. 1 or move to Fox Television Stations' KUTP-TV (Fox10 Xtra) Next 2024-25 season?
