CW in the daytime on AM

Why am I hearing CW in the daytime on 570? Is this RR coming in or a local station?

I thought RR was only 10 KW.

Sounds like you could be hearing Radio Reloj (Time station) from Cuba. I believe that is one of the frequencies they operate on. Typically, you hear low-frequency pulses marking the seconds, a higher-frequency pip to mark the minutes and following the minute signal a Morse-Code "di-dah-dit di-dah-dit" or "RR" as the ID for Radio Reloj.

Later....

Where are you? In my area I get animage from an airport beacon on 790..says "xen". If you're in FL or the SE you could have Cuba's RR

Too bad you can't hear it at night. There's "Gossip Girl" and "One Tree Hill" and "America's Next Top Model". And, of course, "Smallville", "Aliens in America", "Beauty and the Geek" and "Everybody Hates Chris".

In Fort Walton,I'm sure it is Reloj from Cuba. AM signals travel across the Gulf REALLY WELL.
