Cyberdad update?

Truly an awkward issue.
See, back in February I went into hospital toot-sweet-hasty for what became a month's stay, to be notified halfway through that my house had been B&E'ed, tossed, and officially considered 'abandoned' by the USPO.
My subsequent reactions to that were all irrelevant, but on *this* topic per se are kindred -- and certainly not intended to come off as anything but wishful speculation. What I'm trying to say is that I hope that any circumstances that snowballed into communications silences are undergoing restoration.
A blessed Thanksgiving and 73's to all here wishing also for a sigh of relief.

I’ve been wondering about Cyberdad for quite a while and am glad somebody brought this up. While not a regular poster, I’ve followed this board for many, many years and I miss Cyberdad’s always friendly, easy-going presence here. Thanks David for confirming that you’ve had no reply from him, which unfortunately doesn’t bode well, imho. He seemed to have loved this board and the hobby too much to go MIA for this long. But I hope for the best and wish his family well.

Hope he's okay. Enjoy reading his posts.

I read this thread a few hours ago and spent a few minutes (actually an hour or more) crawling down a waskally wabbit hole to see what I could find.

On January 7, 2024, as a side comment to a thread about DX'ing AM 1070, he wrote:

>>> NOTE: I am going in for outpatient eye surgery this coming Wednesday (1/10) and will likely be unable to post for the next 2-3 weeks. If anyone would like to take over FOTW while I'm visually compromised. Please PM me. Probably also a good idea to cc David. <<<

Then after a number of weeks, he disappeared for awhile. After he resurfaced, he wrote (I forgot to note the date, March or April):

We did the "regionals" and GY channels last year. We'll in all likelihood revisit them, starting in June. Stay tuned.

Finally, back last May 5th, the last post I can find was:
Absolutely! I've driven down both. (And once ran down Snake Alley). The two are unique and VERY similar. I actually lived in Burlington for a few months in 1972, and still have friends there. (Apologies for the veer).
. Distance
Back OT (sort of), I've also snagged Burlington's KBUR here a couple of times at my home location. 780 watts on 1490. Distance about 200 miles.

And that's it. No subsequent posts to any threads.

No way I can identify cyberdad's real-life identity, except that in a post a couple of years ago, he mentioned attending his junior year of high school in Honolulu in 1964-65, which would peg him as being about 77 years old, plus-or-minus a year. Re-reading some of his various comments, he seems like a nice guy, and I hope he resurfaces soon.
