CYNNE SIMPSON'S NEW GIG

I thought journalists were not suppost to be involved in commercial endevors like this.

This is not the first time Cynne has took risks. She cussed over the WGCL airwaves (fired and rehired...only to resign to take the job in Washington), and I heard she was quite a partier in West Palm Beach.

We better be careful before Stephany Fisher starts hawking water in the middle of a newscast.

No, you're thinking of Cari Champion. Google her name, and there's nothing but stories about the "muthersucking" incident. Cynne was pretty quiet (but a very pretty anchor) at her time at CBS 46. I thought she was going to replace Fisher.

As far as this website thing, it and the TV station market it as a Public Service thing. I don't see anything wrong with it unless she's promoting it during a newscast, then the ethical lines may cross.

Thats correct. There are so many people in and out of WGCL in such a quick fashion, it is hard to keep track. Cari Champion was the partier and the cusser, and Cynne was the class act (who, like Stephany was transferred in from a sister Meredith station).

There were rumors around that time that Cynne was going to replace Stephanie...which would have led to the first all-African-American lead anchor team in Atlanta (including weather and sports). Unfortunantly, racist Kevin O'Brien was in charge of Meredith's TV station group at the time, and he fired the GM because she was black. This was just one incident in the long story of the WGCL saga.
