Cypress 101.7 files to move to 103.5 at new tower site.....

Um, yeah...

If they think KNTE gives them hell, just wait til they see what KBPA does to them. I get a good signal most days from Austin's 103-5 in North Houston/Spring. I shudder to think what they will face from Bob, in Cypress.

I guess there really isn't many options for them at all. No matter where Cy-Radio goes, someone is bound to interfere.

If they could get 101.5, it may be better.....nothing nearby cochannel....but the preacher on 101.5 just southeast of Cypress wont budge, this seems to be a better deal....the ERP shown was 20 something watts...up from 8.8 watts ERP......that is gonna be a toughie.....3db is not enough to overcome capture effect..a 6-10db increase would have been nice...

Just curious--why so far from Houston (or Cypress)? Is it because of required spacing for 103.7? It would seem a site near Jersey Village or Copperfield would serve many more listeners, if available.

Maybe to cover the gun store? I don't know, Steven, but I certainly agree with you. It can't be KHJK prohibitive of such a move, nor could I see KJOJ preventing a movement further south. Your guess is as good as any, lol.

The proposed new site for KCYB is near the Fairfield Premium Outlet Center. In the parking lot I can often hear a listenable signal from KBPA, but it will be much less of a co-channel issue than KNTE which can send a surprisingly strong signal into NW Harris County.

The move south was probably necessary due to KYBY in Magnolia.

From the proposed coverage map, djrage, basically from Hockley to just north of Cypress itself, traveling along 290. Your mileage may vary. It's actually moving farther away from me, so I guess I'm one and done as far as hearing*it over here in north Houston. Got lucky that one day that KNTE was off, to catch Cy-Radio OTA. That's not likely to happen again at the new 103-5 position, for me.
