Any thoughts on 980 in DC replacing Czaban with Mike and Mike?

I think it is a really stupid move.

DC is a huge market, Czaban is based there. So Snyder's outfit gets 980 from Clearchannel, and removes a local guy for Mike and Mike...

proves that Dan Snyder is just a rich guy with no brains and since he hired away ESPN schlub Mark Shapiro, he's seen his Amusement park gamble blow up and now he's turning a bunch of radio stations into ESPN pablum. Why? Cheaper and safer than hiring good talent and paying them. No one has benefitted more from the consolidation of radio than Mike and Mike. A truly marginal, yet safe show for brainless and gutless owners and dying am signals.

it's crap what they did to Czaban, but he still has a job, is on XM and has Clear Channel partially behind him.

It shows how what a garbage format sports radio has become. Since Tony Bruno has been banished by the non-existent SportingNews toilet, Czabe was the only legit competition for milqtoast Mike and Mike. The FCC was all worried about the Sirius/XM merger and monopolies? IS there a worse example of corruption and abuse of power then what ESPN has done to pansy programmers in America?

Since Tony Bruno has been banished by the non-existent SportingNews toilet, Czabe was the only legit competition for milqtoast Mike and Mike. The FCC was all worried about the Sirius/XM merger and monopolies? IS there a worse example of corruption and abuse of power then what ESPN has done to pansy programmers in America?

the FCC doesn't care a rats A$$ about programming, ESPN doesn't own EVERYTHING (like clear channel did) they just happen to be the PROGRAMMING of choice of everyone because when the average person (not messege board/sports talk radio junkie) think sports in general, they think of ESPN,unless you mention a specific something specific, then they'll probably mention whatever network their favorite sport/team is on. When you ask the average person where to go to watch sports, they'll say ESPN, much like the answer for news for years was CNN.

And they mandated that full-time affiliates carry their high-profile shows like Mike & Mike. Which isn't as bad as other shows out there, but I'd prefer Czabe. Oh yeah, he got hosed by Snyderman... but still has The Sports Reporters on 980. For now, at least.
