D & C gone for good?

I'm hearing rumblings that D & C are not renewing their contract with WEEI. If not WEEI, it will be interesting to see if they stay together and if so, what station picks them up. Could we have heard the last of D & C?

There might be some face-saving at play, because if D&C come back--after being all but humiliated a few weeks ago--it will have a 'tail-between-their-legs' feel to the whole thing. Thanks to massive publicity, the leverage went--almost overnight--from D&C to Entercom. The 'take-a-walk-on-the-beach-and-reflect' comment was just priceless, because it was Entercom's way of saying, "We've got you clowns by the short hairs and you don't even know it!"

They'll be back. They are mentioned to often to give one cause to think it's over. D&C aren't holding any cards. I wonder how long it would take Ryan to get a buyout from the Globe?
I don't think Borges and Bob get along, but I'd like to see them paired.

Entercom, and particularly WEEI, is pretty good at making a big deal out of things. My guess is that if they come back it will be hinted at for a few days, then a grand return. Probably on a Monday morning for Patriots Monday. They'd be very very very smart, if a deal could be worked out, to get them on there this Monday following the Pats first game of the season. Then they could make it seem as if that's what they've been waiting for.

I hope they're not considering Bob Halloran. He's apparantly decided to follow Felger's method and be a contrarian. He's the first one I ever heard say that Steve from Fall River, a pathological Patriot hater and one trick pony, had a good call. Steve usually gets blown up by whatever show he calls.

I don't mind D, but I hope I never hear C again.......and it has nothing to do with his political views. He's just a cheap-shot name calling jerk.

But that's why you listen. And that's why Callahan worked so well for EEI. Love 'em or hate 'em, it was just entertaining to see what would come out of his mouth next.

nope... I stopped listening to them a long time ago. I've only gone back to listening to WEEI in the morning since they've been off the air.

That's high praise for Larry Johnson then. The only praise he's ever gotten or will likely ever get. I've stopped listening to WEEI altogether, but I'll probably listen in to the Big Show on occasion as the Red Sox hopefully march deep into the playoffs and as the Patriots hopefully get out of the gate strong.

well, I'd turn it off when LJ was on there, as well--or after I'd had enough. Dale and Holley do a good show...

I thought the WBZ TV guys did a great job filling in this week. I listen to WEEI more now that D&C aren't on the air. I've noticed Meter is a little less annoying with Jerry not around.

Meter shows hints that he could be very good if he didn't have to play clown role. It's been noticeable while D&C haven't been on.

Meter does seem to have improved, but I don't think that he'll ever become popular. I know that it's show business, but he just comes across as completely disingenuous and phony..........always a thinly veiled agenda.
