"D.U.I." Coming To TLC

Would they have to get consent from the driver (or else morph their face)? What idiot would
let someone show them dog ass drunk on national TV?

To answer your question, almost everyone who has ever been on "the Real World", "Road Rules", "Jersey Shore", "Vegas Strip", "Drinking Made Easy", any VH1 reality show....shall I continue?

Americans are whole-hearted for looking like a fool on television...which is good because it makes me feel better about myself.

I would never condone drunk driving, nor breaking the law, but to me it's just sad that this is the type of television that sells anymore. What happened to talent, good shows and actually writing scripts? The lazy producers and writers now settle for the lowest common denominator. This is the very reason I dumped my TV over 4 years ago now and haven't looked back.

Its a stupid decision to get behind the wheel intoxicated for sure, but I think its an even stupider (if that is a word) decision to profit off of someones condition, be it alcoholism, drug addiction, criminal activity, etc. People who enjoy watching others crash and burn in my opinion have some serious issues. These shows are not meant to educate, they are there to sell ad time and drag the viewers in. Sad.

A one word explanation - "SCHADENFREUDE." It's a German word defined as: taking pleasure from the misfortunes of others. It makes us feel better about our own imperfect lives. Not one of the more admirable human tendencies, but we all harbor this tendency to one degree or another.
