Da Weather Channel

Could have sworn I have been hearing instrumentals as in contemporary jazz playing on local on the 8's as of yesterday evening? Did they give up on the vocals?

Nock

Thanks for the heads up, Nock. I kid you not that I COMPLETELY boycotted them once I read that AJC article I posted here. I have not "listened" to a single Local on the 8s broadcast in weeks. I'll deliberately tune in for the Tropical Update this time of the year, but that's it. I will only go to their website when severe weather is in the area.

Chris Geith's upcoming CD will feature a good number of his cuts played on TWC in the past. Could it be TWC is changing their tune (no pun intended...LOL)? We can only hope.

Chris

Since the change, it seems every time I go to TWC for Local on the 8s they are playing the instrumental portion of Eric Clapton's "Layla".

TWC seems to play "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" over and over as well for Local on the 8's... (This is on Dish Network; I have no idea if the music is the same/different for Cable)

"The Hustle" was played on the 5:08am central "Local on the 8s" everyday this week on Wake Up With Al. It was 70s week. I don't know what they played the rest of the hour.

We can only imagine. It is as if they read Nock's post and decided to rid the rest of the board of any notion they might be going back to the old format.

Chris

I get it over Direct TV and still have yet to hear the tunes y'all mention. Not that I am glued to local on the 8's. I do not see a extremely local segment only a regional so maybe the tunes differ?

Nock

Wait it's 8 after, gotta go.
