Dale Arnold's comment yesterday

Did anyone catch Dale Arnold's comment at the end of his and Minihane's show yesterday? He said to Minihane, almost verbatim, that "I think that we'll soon be hearing more of you on Sportsradio." Does he know something, John Dennis?

Shot in the dark...Minihane is sliding into Winter's vacant slot once D&C return from Ft Myers.
 
I thought a woman was going to be the flash person for D&C? Also, seems like a waste. Finn was hinting that something is planned for Minihane. If it were up to Finn, it would be replacing John Dennis.

The surprise was he didn't get it over Winter and I guessed they didn't like his reads as well?
But the "updates" are so content-free
that it doesn't really matter what they sound like. They usually give about 5 scores or less and flip to a spot.
A lot depends on what they really want from the update guy/girl: speak only when cued or talking all the time? Winter talking often sunk him.
 
I think in Winter's case he felt shut out by D&C so he tried to insert himself a bit more forcibly, which then flipped it over to too much.
At this point, would Minihane really want the flash guy spot? He's gotta be feeling bigger than that.

Minihane is definitely host material. John Ryder and Pete Sheppard could also be hosts. John Ryder seems to be the Rodney Dangerfield of 'EEI. I think he's excellent. Why this Salk guy and not Ryder, or Sheppard, or Minihane? When Sheppard filled in for Ordway, he dropped the loudmouthed bufoon act and did a good job as host. Did the focus group say that they couldn't promote from within?
 
D&C just teased that something's going to happen on tomorrow's show, but that was as far as they'd go. I wonder if they have plans for Minihane as Dale alluded. Things really have changed. In the past they would have had a "travel day" to come back from spring training. They're right back on the job at 6:00 AM tomorrow.

I didn't turn it on until around 6:30. I hear Minihane every so often, but someone else is doing the flashes. Did they announce anything?
 
all it says on their fb page is that Minihane is along for the ride.
