KRLD and KLIF are Tied at 2.6 on the books.

Well....kinda sort of. KRLD is tied at 2.6 with music station KLIF-FM But KLIF-AM 570 - is at 0.5 And this is the station that Cumulus seems to want to turn WBAP into!

Something else I noticed: KLIF-AM has gone down from 0.7 to 0.5. But during the same period KSKY-AM has gone up from 0.3 to 0.5 In other words, it sure looks like the audience that KLIF lost seems to have just moved overto KSKY. #CumulusFail

I noticed a lot of stations that showed AQH and Cume in February don't have anything for March or April. Has there been a change in the way audience is measured, or has KAAM as an example, slipped so far that numbers do not exist that are small enough to express listenership?

Near the bottom of the ratings page there is some small print that indicates that they now only publish ratings information for stations that actually subscribe to Arbitron's service.

No Cumulus is more worried about the performance of the flagship News and Info station KGO and its at 2.6 in the SFO books.

Everyday I am more surprised that CBS still hasn't tried to go after Kiss yet.

They have. Hot 100/Wild 100 was an attempt to go after Kiss. CBS tried it for 5 years and never came close.

That disaster otherwise known as Movin' 107.5 could also be considered an attempt to go after Kiss, though it didn't try to get Kiss by being Kiss.

They'd be going after KLIF as well - flipping a station to CHR in a market that already has two CHRs is pretty risky...

Not really. i93 is pretty weak, both in signal and market presence. It's really just the not-Kiss station. If CBS launched a new CHR in DFW with any competency, they would tie or surpass i93 within one quarter.

Perhaps CBS should flip The Fan to CHR because the sports experiment has been a major fail! Have you seen the recent numbers?

yes, they are beyond suck. If only those listeners could see Greggo's goofy outfits, and not just hear about them. They'd be sure to tune in. Greggo still has the 'it' factor on a non lost voice day, but Richie needs to stick to print media.

It's called AMP, and they do it very well in LA

Ditto that.

I doubt CBS would even try to go after KISS-FM, not even i93. Look how bad CBS's KKHH (Hot 95-7) is doing in Houston. They couldn't even stand up against Cumulus' KRBE (104.1) in the 12+ PPM numbers and they're the only two CHR's in the Houston market. (Well you can't see KRBE numbers now because Cumulus didn't subscribe themselves into the Houston market.)

It's awful and it's the #3 sports station, but it doesn't mean it doesn't turn a profit. It is doubtful they pay their talent that much, they can sell 2-3x as many spots as they could running a music format.

It would be interesting to see if KESN does something with "Ben & Skin." Every month when the PPMs come out and the DMN breaks down the M25-54 numbers, that show is their lowest rated one...a significant drop-off between the two national ESPN shows that bookend it. If KESN were to replace that with something else that did as well as the rest of the line-up, KESN would be ahead of KRLD-FM pretty comfortable every hour.
