Finally KLUV appears to make somewhat of an impact in one of the sales demos. I'm assuming their 25-54 rank is not too far behind their #6 rank in 18-49, so it seems they're safe from a rebrand and further musical adjustments, at least for now.

Meanwhile the ticket broke a ratings record. And is in the top 10 in their demos. Where’s 97.1? I’m going to sound like a broken record, and I don’t care. Their plan with adding more talk was ok, eliminating the music wasn‘t a great idea. What does the freak offer that 105.3 and 96.7 aren’t already doing?

The Freak increased its 6+ numbers to almost what they had with The Eagle. The demos may be a different story, but 6+ is what we see.

Like you, I'm not a fan of the new format. It's unfocused. It needs some direction. But it appears to be holding most of the audience they had with rock. I'm sure Mavs games help too. It will take several months to really see what the impact of this move is on the station and market in general.

I'm not convinced Mavs games, most of which occur in the evenings, are enough to really move the needle.

Holding an audience that they had largely lost completely means that they stopped the bleeding, nothing more, nothing less. They managed to entice enough sports people to listen to make up for losing what was left of the rock audience.
