Continued erosion of KLUV ratings. Maybe they should add true oldies back into the mix!

I looked at KLUV's playlist earlier today and saw quite a number of unfamiliar tunes...

KEGL appears to be heading back up with nearly a point increase over the past few books, while KDGE remains flat, with the exception of the July book. What's changed with The Eagle recently allowing them to jump almost a point? There seemed to be some musical overlap between the two the last time I was up in Dallas. Has there been a shift in the format on 97.1 to distance itself from its sister?

Or the music is too old and they are running off too many of the saleable <55 demos?

Lets see - the Eagle in Houston adds more oldies and their ratings go up (they just played Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones). KLUV deletes oldies and the ratings go down. Similar markets. Draw you own conclusions. A little hint - elderlies don't all live at Elderly Acres, listen to Yanni, and take trips to Branston or a Casino every other weekend. Those of us 55 and up still listen to the radio, watch TV, and spend money on products we hear advertised. We are not always set in our ways. A year ago I took a chance on the first Chrysler product my family has ever owned, and it has worked out. I saw the car advertised on a commercial break during the show "Victorious". Never heard of it? Try Nickelodeon. The sitcoms are actually funny without talking about bodily fluids or who is sleeping with whom and how they are "doing it". My next vacation is to try out the latest extreme coasters newly opened at theme parks around the country. Branson is somewhere I laugh at and avoid. Oh and Gallery Furniture that advertises on Nick shows has got about 10k worth of purchases from me.
