I sure would love to see the audience breakdown between 96.7 and 1310. Anyone want to take an educated guess?

Also, it's just 6+, but two out of the top five stations are Wise County rimshots vs three from Cedar Hill. That's incredible.

As the growth patters continue in Denton and Collin Counties, will there come a time when the Northern Rimshots are, while not more advantageous, on a more level playing field with the Cedar Hill sticks?

Doubtful. Those rimshots will likely continue to serve as simulcast partners for Dallas stations as those areas grow, or they will break off from targeting Dallas altogether, and go back to super serving the communities in which they reside. That will ultimately come down to just how large Collin County, and the adjacent counties surrounding it, continue to grow in population, and the demographic breakdown that comes with it. There's not one rimshot in the crowd that can compete on a level playing field with Cedar Hill.

Maybe it's time for Urban One to consider swapping frequences for Majic and The Beat. It appears R&B is doing better than Hip Hop in this market.

I’m amazed at how well rimshot KRNB does when compared to sibling KKDA which is on a Cedar Hill stick. And KRNB has triple the number of rimshot KZMJ, whose more easterly signal is better centered over DFW.

Unlike KTCK-FM, KRNB does not have a Dallas-county simulcast (a la 25kw 1310 AM) and it is stereo music, making the ratings even more impressive.

I've mentioned it before, but the real world coverage of the NW rimshots (96.7, 98.3, 101.7, and 105.7) just seem to do better in the real world than the Collinsville ones (94.5, 100.7, 103.3), despite the later looking better on paper and being more centered to the market population.

The ground elevation at the northwestern rimshot sites is almost 500 feet higher than the more eastern rimshots, so that might help with dropping a good signal into the Metroplex. The HAAT metric can often disguise advantages provided by terrain differences.

You can easily determine the ground elevation of a transmitter site by subtracting the “height above ground level” number for the antenna from the “height above sea level”. Radio-locator includes both of those along with HAAT.

The Greenwood tower (left) gets a much better view of the west side of the Cedar Hill escarpment ridgeline, which definitely helps Mid Cities coverage, whereas the Collinsville stick (right) almost looks straight down the ridgeline, and there are significant shadowing issues in Tarrant County.

Maybe we might see this happening. Within the past couple of days, Majic 94.5 is no longer on 97.9 HD2. It’s a simulcast of 97.9 The Beat now. Possibly the first step in swapping frequencies??

Yeah, we’ll see what happens. And I was just about to send them a message to see if we could get the Artist/Title info back on 97.9 HD2. It was there at one time, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen it.

How well is KHVN/KGGM doing with the Black Information Network?

I do figure when will KKDA and KRNB swap frequencies, along with KBFB and KZMJ. Yes, the ratings are impressive as rimshots and I'm sure DFW needs a full-signal R&B station ever since V100 left in the late 90s.

I'm glad KLTY went back up, probably because of the holidays(?).

KEGL is going up? Really? KDMX is going down? Really?

Imagine what kind of numbers a full signal R&B station would get. KRNB is already doing well on the signal they have.

I honestly believe that the numbers will not improve that much. I know Urban One wants D/FW especially since Rickey Smiley does his show here, but man they are having a tough time of it 12+ wise. I wonder how they are doing with Black women 18-49 and 25-54.

It's pretty much like that everywhere across the country. What's more baffling is how good 105.7's numbers are. Imagine THEM on a Cedar Hill stick.

Absolutely agree. I listened to 94.5 this morning, and their playlist sounded alot like KRNB's. Guess it's like they say: "If you can't beat them, join them."
