Dallas' Newest Radio DJ Is...

If Russ Martin can't beat this lady, it's over for him.

Oh, I don't know, given his track record in such situations.

First there is the obvious fact that Russ' target demo and Mix's target demo are nowhere near the same. Next, she will not even be on in Russ' daypart. She will be on from noon to 1p. As far as longevity goes, she'll be around as long as her husband is around (if she stays with the husband).

You would think Clear Channel would learn from giving Whoopi Goldberg her own morning show in several major markets without any previous experience. CC blew up stations in Philadelphia and Las Vegas for formats that would be compatible with her show!

Maybe CC is starting small here with Khloe's radio show, with a national rollout if there's a big enough demand? I don't know. I still think her show is going to last about as long as her sister's marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries. ::)

She did the same type of radio deal in Florida when the reality show was taping there. I think it is smart that she is only doing an hour (with music included). It is just enough time for those who like her...but not enough to run off those who do not. It is great publicity for Mix...especially since companies do not promote their stations like they did in the past. I know that I would shove pencils into my ears before listening to this chick, but I am not Mix's audience. I am curious to know if CC is requiring that she do endorsements. Talk about a salesperson's dream.

I wanted to listen to the show, I actually do like her, she's got a head on her shoulders unlike her sisters. But I streamed the show for 25 minutes. I heard 5 songs in a row (with no talk from her) then ONE quick phone call that lasted about a minute and a half, then back to another song...so I shut it off. How long is she actually on for the hour? 5 minutes?

If only Ryan Seacrest could get the same "five minutes of content per hour" deal... ::)

Can I assume EVERYONE on this board is insulted that this dumb broad can land a radio gig, but most people with actual radio broadcasting experience can't..?

I've listened 3 times for less than 20 min a try. Terrible, I understand the star power, but geeez make her earn her money. Sounds like she's sitting down in one day, voice tracking one day worth of material. The producer takes that one session and stretches out 6 month of audio.

Could be fine if she'd work, but all three times I've listened, her mom magically appeared in the studio with her. Cmon.

You guys really crack me up. You talk about this like she actually goes to her "job" and does a one hour shift every day. I doesn't work like that anymore. Y'all know that! Any station can take ANY (fill in the blank here) so called "celebrity", VT their "breaks" in and *PRESTO*, you have a new "DJ". No one has lost a job to a "celebrity". There was no job to lose!

I just listened to a podcast of her interviewing Tony Romo's wife and she said her family was visiting recently
