DALLAS OUT AT GATOR

As speculated yesterday, Dallas was let go from Gator this morning. In my opinion, letting him go altogether definitely puts Spurgeon up for the Trojan Boner Of The Week Award. They probably should have moved him to nights or something.

H20, you called it right and I'll give kudos for whatever inside scoop you may have had. The fact is, Gator was once flirting with a respectable 5 share last year, and ended up reeling in a winter book 2.3.
For better or worse, the morning drivers bear the brunt of good times and bad, and losing half your audience isn't financially supportable. Dixie's departure was a knockout punch, and relying on his traffic clown for support after that was a fatal blow. I'm sure Dallas is a good guy, but the show sounded like an aimless, unprepared walkthrough. Somedays you wouldn't hear him talk until 6:30 or 7 o'clock.
Gator's music sounds great, but whoever ends up in morning drive needs to DELIVER knockouts, not take them.

The way All Access make it sound that Dallas left on his own...but who knows? I am ready to see this new morning show launch...and Gator is running sweepers almost between every song announcing that a change is coming. I am ready to see them fight with WQIK and shut Rooster down for good. This is a market that can only handle two country stations that has three and one has to go and Gator knows it will not be the one to go....smart move for them on working to improve the logistics of a small company owned radio station. Later on.
