Dallas Pirate on 95.7

Anyone know anything about the pirate talk station on 95.7? They're running alternative talk, with some conspiracy theory folks. Sometimes they mention a bunch of frequencies, mostly in Austin and all in Texas. They're actively looking for additional transmitting sites. Its pretty strong along Central, south of LBJ, but fades north of Arapaho.

Anyways it could be a LP bleeding over? I like listening to the far-right conspiracy nuts (Alex Jones,Anything on genesis radio network), makes me realize how normal I really am ;)

I'm guessing its a 25 watt Veronica transmitter somewhere in the the Royal/Walnut Hill and 75 area. It's okay to Bush on 75, but as a previous poster said, it fades big time on Arapaho (I was at Coit and Arapaho, and lost it). Signal very strong at Royal and Skillman. Hmmmm. Wonder if they were behind the muffins at Lake Highlands HS.Intersting that the Pirate has a stereo signal for talk at low power. They would certainly get more range without the stereo pilot.

KLIF night pattern (was Re: Dallas Pirate on 95.7)

I don't know who it IS...but I know for certainty who it ISN'T!(that's a little inside for those in the know)
Steve -- This veers off the topic of the thread...but it does concern radio and signals......since you're the 1190/KLIF historian -- just how good was the old 1,000 watt night signal from Pleasant Grove? The map on your site shows that it hit Carrollton quite well. Since I wasn't in the market at that time, did it really have that kind of coverage? The present day null at Stemmons and Bush is remarkable.

Found it

This one was hard. I'm goin back first thing in the morning to take pics of the antenna and ask him how much power he's running. Gotta be 100 watts at least. Too bad he's in the shadow of the FCC building!!! Details coming tomorrow - with pics.Took two hours tonight... most of which was in the dark.Oh and if any of y'all want "Liberty Dollars" - that station is where you can hear ALL about them.

I know some nasty dudes that don't like pirate busters. Careful videochick, your luck may run out one day ;) No one likes a tattle-tail or troublemaker.

That's why A: I didn't go up to their house last night in the dark, and B: I don't plan on doing anything more than taking pictures from the street. :)73

Well, that certainly explains why the signal was strong at Royal and Skillman. BTW, did anyone ever figure out who was running the pirate at 102.5 about a year or so ago?

Has it ever occured to you Videochick someone from the fcc might be reading this board or someone reading this board will blow the whistle on this guy.Hey i'm just trying to help you. This pirate operator might come after you.

Vide0chik is a real person and has been around for awhile. Several months ago, I had one of those pirate cats threaten me for exposing him on the board. His bark was louder than his bite. I reprinted the email he sent me on the Houston board. He told me he knew where I lived. I fired an email back basically telling him if he did, he would be very surprised. It's against the law. Its not like the great pirate stations of the UK in the 1960's. Those cats operated much like a American Top-40 station. The pirates today are not operating in that manner. Most are using it tas an excuse to peddle crap on the air, whether it's demeaning lyrics in songs to extreme political disinformation from the left and the rightGood job, Chick!.

In most cases I would agree with Chuck but these people are not kids in their garages. They are organized conspiriacy nuts and they are all over Texas. It's kinda scary. The RFA is HQ'd in Austin but we have them here in San Antonio; Houston has them; they have been heard in Kerrville, Gonzales and Victoria just to name a few places. They are an organized pirate network of wackos. They are bold and should be dealt with cautiously. I would just turn over the info and let the Feds deal with them.

I agree. I did let the local authorities know about it. You are correct by telling the Feds. after all, stations are licensed by the federal government. Therefore, not only are they under the rules of the FCC but also under the auspices of the FBI, who can and will investigate and arrest if it leads to mayhem and murder.

Hey Marvin - if you go by K5HO on 2 meters, that's not a valid callsign. I'm not scared of any pirate operator. My address on QRZ.com is not my street address - it's my mailing address. I didn't go up to the house or talk to them, nor do I intend to. You obviously haven't been around this board long if you're just now seeing what I enjoy doing as a hobby. Why would I care if the FCC read this board?? The guy is transmitting illegally... and they can find him as well as I did. Thanks Chuck et al :)

Chick,I'm on all channels/bands.Listen i'm just trying to help you out. Now that you have publicly put his address on this site, if he gets wind of it, he might come after you.
