Dallas Stars Announce TV Schedule

The Dallas Stars have announced the team's 2005/2006 schedule of televised games.

Once more, KDFI-27 and Fox Sports Southwest split the local-TV coverage. KDFI will carry 33 games (14 home, 19 away), while FSSW will broadcast 38 games (23 home, 15 away). The Stars' remaining eleven games are national telecasts (seven games on OLN, four Saturday matinees on NBC).

Before the lockout that cancelled the 2004/2005 season, the Stars had made strong progress towards making professional hockey a major spectator sport in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It will be interesting to see what kind of effects the lockout has on both live attendance at, and TV ratings for, Stars' games.

Little if any. Many fans will still attend, amny will watch. They will grumble the first two weeks and win the Stars are on a winning streak all hostillities will subside. Remember the baseball strike in the 90's the football strike in the 80's? The fans griped, but returned in very short order.

Hockey fans are some of the most forgiving in professional sports, esp. stars fans. Being one of them, it'll be interesting to see if the general public will come back.

As long as Ralph and Razor are there, I'll be there. I wonder how many new words Razor has learned in the last year?

Truly one of the best announcing teams
