So apparently people have way too much time on their hands. Tonight I received an email threatening to "out" my situation as to why I was "on the beach". As I've stated before, my original intent on moving was to get a year experience, and move to a bigger market. There are other factors involved in my departure from the company I worked at for a year and two months. I do not want this to lead to a circus show, as I would prefer that my departure remain personal. The person that threatened to divulge information got the info from some source I am not aware of. This is odd, especially seeing the documents I have... had not been presented to media in my surrounding area. I do not want this situation to prevent me from obtaining a job in radio, and feel that people really do not need to know the details. I consider myself a professional person when it comes to radio, and sharing that information would just be creating a snowball effect on these boards. My friends on here know why I chose to leave Z96. Being vague, my main reason was to seek employment with a company that conducted itself in a professional manner. During my four years at Citadel, I was treated respectfully and had every opportunity be successful. Under recent circumstances that have occurred, that has not been the case. Although I am over a thousand miles away, I am quite aware of the story going on at WSAR. I'm the type of person that does not take ANY side until I am directly affected, or presented with all facts. The person that has challenged me on my reasons for leaving Cumulus Broadcasting is not going to bully me into posting details. I am hoping that what between me and my former employer will continue to remain between us. Unfortunately (and not speaking of any case specifically), most incidents end up being a "he said, she said" story. That is unfortunate because we never end up figuring out which side is being truthful. Without specifics, I separated from Cumulus Broadcasting after having to deal with unprofessional behavior. Being from the Boston area, my work in higher education was highly conducted in a professional manner. I am fortunate enough that Cumulus Broadcasting has admitted that the inappropriateness took place via a memo from their legal time. To have a major broadcasting company admit in a memo that it is "inappropriate and offensive to have received an email about "peeing in someone's mouth" and that the topic of "blowjo*$@bs" in the studio was offensive in the workplace. While the memo did indicate that the behavior was acknowledged and those were reprimanded, I found it difficult to continue to put my "game face" on with people I vehemently abhorred. You can put your "game face on during the show...or at remotes", however I decided that even though those people were reprimanded, I was unable to be successful in having a great show as long as those people were there. My former bosses in the New England area can vouch for my dedicated workmanship. While some of you know I have a laidback personality, when it comes to my show, I take things very seriously, and any behavior that gets in the way of me doing that, I am unable to endure. Prior to moving here, I did not know much about the company, or have any friends that worked for the company. However, after complaining about emails that were extremely inappropriate, and having certain topics discussed in the studio, as soon as a complaint was made, measures were taken on the management side that ended up in the demise of my morning show position. I am completely, 100% sure that the documents I have in writing will lead to the company being held accountable for its' employees behavior. Again, the reason for this post is because someone was going to post inaccurate information, which I am trying to avoid.
