heres my take.
I have just recently moved away from that market back to altamonte. I lived in southwest palm bay for 5 years and have heard all of these stations.
first, my thought on 95.9
1. sucky signal, only covering south brevard, lost it in titusville
2. the longest lasting format on there was pirate. good format untill recently when it became somewhat of a clone of "whtq" witch covers that area anyway. what's with that? pirate shoulda stuck to a mix of modern and classic rock.
pre real rock anyone? for a while, pirate was number one on my radio now i'm in orlando so it doesn't matter anymore.
next, wint.
I remember when it was "1560
the touch" then it became cnn, then standards and now it has "true oldies."
1. why true oldies? brevard has "98.5 the beach" witch covers the county nicely.
well, "true oldies" does play some obscure tracks, but why the daytime? if it was a nighttimer and had a few more thousand watts, i think they would have somewhat of a good hold in that market.
and that's all i have to say for cumulus.
I think that company may be on a downfall. I hope they do change wsjz. maybe get some classic hits for brevard? interesting things going on over there.
