Sometimes thats not the case. Granted I've noticed it more on the local side of things, but I've heard update guys slip in scores of, say a not quite local college basketball team he currently broadcasts for (i.e. Bob Heussler WFAN/Fairfield University of the small mid-major MACC confrence)

Difference is, the NBA is still considered a major sport in terms of media (both sports and non-sports) coverage. Tennis, except when certain players "cross over" ala the Williamses and Andre Aggasi about 10 years ago, is not
