Dan Gross from the Daily News reported this morning that Smerconish and Jon Anderson from Yes had a hilarious discussion about the "C Word" and Anderson added "Anderson's description of the hunt-rhyming word as "a beautiful word meant to define the flower of the woman." He said men had gone and "f---ed it up." They were talking about it this morning- it was pretty funny- as a guy in his 30's who is new to this radio market and a HUGE YES fan I found this very funny ;D.....

I remember the much classier good old days of morning talk in this town. Dominic Quinn never would have spoken like that. Since we only have one local morning talk show in this town, is Smerconish really the best Philly can do?

It's a disgrace. ;D

Classy? Who the hell is tuning in to hear classy? I didn't know what to expect from 1210am with Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck (6 of the most boring hours on the radio dial) it's nice to hear someone branching out and doing other things rather than all politics, I'm not into all Wacky morning radio- although Kidd Chris seems pretty entertaining- and I'm not into all politics so a mixture of the two in my opinion is a breath of fresh air and being new to this area- not something you hear in other markets- and if he wasn't such a mumbly old racist Don Imus would have been good at that

The 1210 morning show is hardly a "breath of fresh air."

Trash talking is not good radio.

Smerconish is not good period. I don't listen to him.

I heard it. It was well-constructed dialog this morning, as is all of Smerconish’s content delivery. I guess if you just don’t have the intellectual capacity to digest it, then ignorance is bliss.

As well-constructed it may be, anything sounds awful coming from that twangy maw of his.

I guess if you just don’t have the intellectual capacity to digest it, then ignorance is bliss.

Intellectual capacity? The word for the flower of the woman that rhymes with hunt. You're right. Too complicated for me.

Moving on. :)

It was well-constructed dialog this morning, as is all of Smerconish’s content delivery

So you have heard everything he has ever said on the radio? That is a very generic statement, unless of course I don't have the intellectual capacity to digest such simplicity.

Dominic Quinn would have never had Jon Anderson on his show. He no doubt thought rock 'n' roll was a Communist plot and pined for the days of Bix Beiderbecke. :D

I have air-check of Dominic Quinn on WWDB 96-5 releasing a string of fine descriptive adjectives over a spot, not kowing his mic was hot. Then an abrupt tape of an announcer "uh-oh...bleep, bleep...uh-oh....bleep, bleep...uh-oh...bleep, bleep" after it already went out.

And what's the big deal about Hanoi Jane describing herself anyway?

I think radio is too potty mouth and that shock jock Michael Smerconish should be thrown off the air. Every broadcaster should ask themselves before filling the airwaves with filth, "Would Frank and Mary Jelinak say this?"

The electric radio would be much better then.

IMHO, This topic, if handled well, is exactly the kind of topics that should be discussed at great length. The restraint on free speech is front

page news today effects, not only everyone in broadcasting, but anyone who respects the countries Bills of Rights and constitution.

I didn't hear the show, but what one person calls "potty mouth" another might see as colorful. If a black man can use the "N" word with a

majority of acceptance, shouldn't someone who's regularly associated with the "c" word be allowed to use it without condemnation?

The FCC and media giants have been discussing this very subject in Washington recently. Who cares what other people would or would not

have on their shows....Dominic Quinn would never have this kind of thing on his show..WAAAAAAAA...WAAAA. SOOOO listen to Dominic

Quinn. And who the hell is Frank and Mary Jelinak?

Maybe a better idea would be to get a show, come up with the best topics known to man and show us all how to do it.

Not only are you arrogant and condescending, you missed the entire point.

1) First, Dominic Quinn is dead.
2) This isn't about free speech, the Bill Of Rights, or the Constitution for cyring out loud.
3) The poster who used "potty mouth" was obviously speaking facetiously. Everyone else understands that.

Who cares what other people would or would not

have on their shows....

Hmmm. Isn't that what a discussion board is about? We discuss what people have on their shows. Apparently everyone here understands that but you.

And who the hell is Frank and Mary Jelinak?

If you don't know that Dominic Quinn is dead and who Frank and Mary Jelinak are, then why are you even opining? This is ridiculous.

Maybe a better idea would be to get a show, come up with the best topics known to man and show us all how to do it.

Maybe a better idea would be to not shoot your mouth off in such a callous manner and understand that the point of this board is for people to discuss radio regardless of whether or not they have a show.

Your post is one of the most careless and simplistic ones I've seen in a long time.

Smerconish really, really has to learn how to operate a talk show. Yeah yeah I know, I can hear the comments now, "what makes you an expert you have your own talk show?" I did, twice. And when I did, I would not let callers hang on the phone for 45 min.And to make matters worst,END THE TOPIC and disconnect the callers whom are on hold because their comments have nothing to do with the new topic Smerconish, here is what you do, you say"we have 5 callers on hold, let me take the remainder of calls on line for this topic" then start a new topic.it's an epiphany!!!!!!

so you are upset you didnt get on the air? Get a life. SH@T happens. The show is not programmed to the caller, its programmed to the listeners, the majority of whom don't call.

Hey Slant, that has to be THE DUMBEST COMMENT EVER!!!!"not programed to the callers but to the listeners" who the hell do you think the callers are? they're listeners. 2nd what do you think the format "talk show" denotes, an interactive medium, a sharing of ideas and opinions. You can't have all of the above if you DON'T LET PEOPLE SHARE THEM. Oh, and by the way, the cheap insult you made"get a life" if that is the case, talk show hosts would not have a show. and there would not be any talk stations. genius.

Dopey...the show is not programmed to appease the callers waiting on hold. Major market talk radio, or any talk radio has to be entertaining...perhaps your comments were not worthy enough to make it on the air? Callers are listeners, but they DO NOT CONTROL THE PROGRAM.

Mr. R-r-r-r... it seems that you are missing the point. The original post stated that the show was funny and I was merely pointing out

that if you don't like it...Listen to tapes of days long gone. Fibber McGee and Molly, the Jack Benny show etc etc are all available on-line.

The Schmerconish show was discussing the Fonda use of the "c" word which is about Freedom of speech rights..GET IT....
