DAN JUSTIN-MAGIC 106.7 WEEKDAY AFTERNOONS

Last week Dan had a cold, on Friday afternoon, he was on, but his voice kept cracking due to his cold flu, he was on until 4:15pm, then Mark Lawrence was on the rest of the afternoon. We have on Magic 106.7 on at work.
Dan Justin is a very hard worker. He is one of the best radio personilities on in Boston, and that's on Magic 106.7. I used to listen to him way back in the day when he was on WZOU 94.5
Any of you heard him this past Friday? He really sounded so sick

I've been into radio for around 11 years and if my memory serves me correctly he has been with Magic all that time.

I don't know if it was DIRECTLY before Magic, but Dan at one time did afternoon drive on the old WROR (98.5) years ago, didn't he?? Or maybe it was WROR/Mix. Or just Mix. And he always ended his show with the same message to his puppy (I don't recall the puppy's name): "I've got your pepperoni pizza and I'm coming home." I vaguely recall that that puppy died after being hit by a car. :'(

When I went to CSB in Wellesley in 2000, Dan was one of the guest speakers that came in. He's a dedicated person and a great personality.

Dan was definitely doing afternoon drive on WROR (the 105.7 one) before heading next door to Magic... not sure what he was up to between WZOU, where I think he worked up until the end, through his arrival at WROR.

Never met Dan but you can tell he loves being on the radio just by listening. A true personality, even on Mainstream AC.

Back in the early 80's Dan worked at WBOS when they were country.

Dan was at BOS even before they were country. He was there during the "rock bos" days. I did some work with him during his days at
ZOU. He was the 'host' one night at Franks in Brockton. I knew the dj in the booth that night and did some stuff with Dan for the show.

A great guy and a great talent.

One of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Got his Boston start at WZOU. I was in the office going through audition tapes on Stuart Street when we hired him for part time. I think he was from the Cape at the time.

Mark Laurence is Dan Justin's regular fill-in. He held the afternoon shift until Dan Justin replaced him in March 2000.

Justin has worked at WZOU 94.5, WROR/WBMX 98.5 and WROR 105.7.

I believe you're right. The "tower," for what it's worth, actually still stands on top of one of the academic buildings. From what I've been told, the station badly needed upgrades and EAS equipment in the early 1980s, but the money for the upgrades couldn't be found, so the license was turned in. The school would never let that happen today, but finances were a different story back then.
