Dan LeBatard Gains Half-Hour On ESPN2, Loses Hour On Radio

The frequent "Pardon The Interruption" substitute host - "Bam!" - will be the anchor of a new daily program on ESPN2, "Highly Questionable," to debut in September. It will air at 4 PM.

To accommodate his new TV show, LeBatard will be cutting back an hour of his radio show on 790 The Ticket, which currently airs 3-7 PM weekdays. The Miami Herald says the new time slot may be 4-7 PM... which puts him in competition with his own TV show.

This Alabama-based poster has regularly listened to podcasts of LeBatard's Miami-based radio show since last June (on the cusp of LeBron James' 'Decision'), and hasn't looked back since. The 790 radio show is that good--and I remember him making the most of hosting 'ESPN The Magazine' on ESPN Radio.

I'm looking forward to this TV exploit. It'll work if ESPN The Board Room leaves him be, choosing not to totally handcuff him on content.

"ESPN The Magazine," IIRC, aired on ESPN Radio on very early Sunday mornings. Not the best time slot you want to showcase up-and-coming talent.

He could "lose" 4 hours on the Radio. He is terrible with his laughing and nonsense and his fake name co-host is an embarrassment.

Agreed. That station blasts a ton of commercials every hour and the fake laughter is annoying. You could switch and listen to the self congratulating Sid who is even more of an annoyance. How many ways can one host talk about New York and how great he is. Sorry but I miss the days of Neil, Hank and Mandich. Hard to believe that Hank is the last one standing.
