Dan Mason has been telling certain close friends he wants out.
Says he's tired of getting blamed for all thats wrong with
radio. Also says he's sick and tired of having to fire good
people just to put questionable syndicated shows
on--BossJock1947
I don't want to get into a flame on this, but ...
(flame, flame, flame... then)...
CBS has strict rules about "posters" ... let alone those who
"speculate, start rumors, etc." Your post has, in fact, been
sent to Dan Mason for comment. He's not that hard to get to. --oaktree
[EDIT]
At least YOU gotta forgive my mocking tone, BossJock1947; you buckled under Oakrat's threat as
most who fear a loss of paycheck often do. But-- "
Great radio guy?" Really? Is that why Mason
got rid of SO MANY of the people in the last 20 months that WERE his real inventory?
I happen to think Dan is a great radio guy but i just thought i'd share what i heard. Whether
it's true or not i don't know. -- BossJock1947
What a pantload. Dan is sick of CBS? CBS
Radio, you mean? Tired of being BLAMED for "what's wrong
with radio," or
being what's wrong? He certainly
ain't part of the solution. How about being a little ill over
being fingered as the fall guy in front of the entire planet for getting caught eradicating live talent and replacing
them with less expensive pre-recorded ubiquity. Sick about being found out, MAYBE.
But
let's be fair to the large crowd of "good people" he slashed from the CBS budget:
He's
not a
great radio guy, BJ'47, he's at best a
strip miner. A corporate yes-guy, not even a broadcaster anymore.
Maybe he's sick of having been told what to do by Moonves.
[EDIT] will never gonna buy
that, but, YEAH, much more probable.
