Never pay attention to the guy "BossJock1947" who posts everything so incurrectly from his alleged "inside" sources, like he did a few weeks ago about CBS' Dan Mason stepping down in January. This is about the tenth falsehood told. No, falsehood is too kind a word. Just sayin'. Whether it's here or on the Philly board, LA or elsewhere -- pay his rumors no mind. Speculation is one thing, childish juvenile lying without backup evidence (and admitting it) is another thing "Jimmy Jiblet". Get a life.
CBS Radio President/CEO Dan Mason extends his deal
Mason signed a three-year contract when he returned to run CBS Radio in the Spring of 2007. Now, as part of a realignment at the CBS broadcasting assets, he'll continue in that job past the three-year date, though CBS isn’t announcing the length of the renewal. Last week, CBS Corporation announced its intention to reorganize the company into five business segments – Entertainment (including the CBS Television Network) and CBS Interactive), Cable Networks, Publishing, Outdoor and Local Broadcasting. As part of that, current CBS Radio CFO and Senior Executive VP of Operations Anton Guitano assumes the new post of Chief Operating Officer of the new CBS Local Media division. He'll report to Dan Mason, to CBS Corporation President/CEO Les Moonves, and to newly-named President of the TV division Peter Dunn.
