Dan Neaverth

How much do they need to hold onto to continue to be sold out, which they were before The October surprise, and which they will remain to be after "the bump wears off."

Whatever WBEN does, they do it right. They have been a market giant for over 35 years and most likely will remain so, with or without major snow storms.

As far as Danny goes (this thread is about him, n'est-ce pas?), it's not that he's lost interest. He just has no interest in any station in the marketplace at this time.

This may be the most definitive post in the thread. (Oh yeah, and the French adds a certain "je ne sais quoi." Nice touch.) Neaverth doesn't need to prove or justify himself to anybody. His body of work stands on its own merit.

Since my early days of listening in the mid-1960s WBEN was *THE* station in our house. 40 years plus now.

They were great no doubt about it. I remember the old CBS network shows that were still on the air in the late '50's and early '60's. Art Linkletter, Arthur Godfrey etc. At our house though WKBW was the station. My parents were older than average but still they liked it. Today I can't imagine listening to the local CHR station where I live. Too much scary rap music.

I have seen a little bit about it but I would like to know more about WKBW before the station changed to Top 40 in 1958.
