Yeah the soccer bashing gets old especially during and after this current world cup, I do like the big show hour on Patrick. I usually listen to a local show most of the time during the 11am-2pm time slot anyway.

But if I had to choose between the two - it is no contest - Dan Patrick (especially with Keith Olbermann) is far more listenable than Jim Rome. Dan Patrick's downside is that he: can be somewhat boring at times, sometimes seems like he hasn't done much prep before the show, and sometimes he thinks his segments are more interesting - than I think his listeners find them to be.Jim Rome's downside is that he: is arrogant, cocky, condescending; is always trying to drum up fake outrage over frivolous sports stuff, and is just hard to listen to for an extended period of time (like fingernails on a chalk board).

macrinus said:Actually, after hearing Kornheiser go off on Mike Golic and that critic at his own paper last week (re: ESPN NFL booth work), I feel much better about my original hypothesis years ago - that this Tony guy can hammer everyone else, but is pretty infantile about taking even the most mild criticism. I suppose I never understood the love fest with Kornheiser that used to be around this site anyway. For being considered a real professional, he sounded like a whining little wuss recently.
I am much more interested in Cowherd...very funny, very fresh, just smart-assed enough to keep it interesting. To me, makes Kornheiser's old show seem bitter at worst, stale at best.
