Dan Patrick returns on WTDA

Dan Patrick will return to Columbus on 103.9 WTDA in the 6P-9P slot. I don't know if they'll go into Andrew Siciliano from 9P-10P but it's unfortunate timing. I enjoy Andrew Siciliano much more than some of the other Fox Sports hosts.

Anyway, now if only they'd find someone to replace Dennis Miller... gah.

Well they could just not air Dennis Miller and play a variety of music like when it was TED-FM. call it an Intermission, a break from all the yack - a sampler of when we were Jack... uh Ted, a musical interlude. Can ya tell I'm not a fan of High Fidelity Talk Radio.

Just a thought,

Or put a better talker on the air. I'll be happy with Lionel, Randi Rhodes, or Lou Dobbs.

I can't imagine WTDA going from conservative Beck into liberal Lionel or Rhodes. Dobbs would be a possibility.

I like Dan's new show (I listen to it on XM)--but this is a puzzling move....first of all the show will air on a 9 hour delay...not very good when breaking sports news happens in the AM...plus I dont see how adding a new show from 6 - 9 pm will bump the ratings at all...they would be better off saving their pennies and sticking with Siciliano....I love Shark's show, but I cant see NABCO sticking with the talk fm format much longer...

Probably until the end of the year?  They usually stick with a format at least two years before flipping to their next signal-doomed format.  Ted must have cost next-to-nothing to air, other than B&T.

I ve thought a little more about this, which shows I have no life....I wonder if "the powers that be" at 103.9 thought about running Dan Patrick 1 - 4pm and flipping Dennis Miller, if they would want to keep him at all, to 6 - 9pm...that would make Patrick's show more current and topical, and pretty much at the same time slot his former 1460 listeners were used to him at....

Let's be honest - If we're listening to talk in the afternoon, Corby is killing it right now.
You'll need to be local and live to even think about being in the game.
Patrick is OK but the delay worries me. Dobbs? On TDA? No way.

With the exception of Mark The Shark, I'd be fine with them dumping the entire talk format and just simulcasting AM 920 WMNI on 103.9 in Hi-Fi Stereo. Of course I think that suggestion or something like it was suggested many months ago by several others.

I think they would rather take 103.9 dark then simulcast AM 920 WMNI on 103.9 FM.

Taking 103.9 dark would be a really drastic format change. ;)

Last time 103.9 went dark if I recall was back in the early 90s when it played Jazz under the call letters of WBBY. I used to listen to that until they lost their license. Last I checked they don't stream WMNI on the internet, so maybe they are looking at 50 years of WMNI being it's last. Well, hope that is not the case, except for WTDA's current format, I find NABCO's stations enjoyable.
