Dan Patrick show not on The Ticket Wed and Thursday night

He is still listed on their web page.

What was on in his place?

Personally, I hope The Fan picks up DP live and follows him with Jim Rome. I'd rather hear that than the crap 105.3 is rolling with currently.

Dallas' FAN (105.3) had a local commercial around 4 a.m. this morning...heard it myself...that The DP Show will now be on their station. I know it hasn't been on the Ticket since last Tuesday, and I don't know when the show is planned to appear on The Fan, but evidently the Dan Patrick Show has jumped stations. I asked the Ticket's program director via e-mail last week what was up, and he wrote back saying it was off due to a 'technical glitch'...but he also said he only thought it had been off one night...and wouldn't a PD know for sure? Anyway, it appears the show will soon be on The Fan...I just don't know the time slot.

Did it say that it was going to be on the fan? Im a night owl and I know that overnights they run the Sports Soup from Fox Sports Radio, and the DP show is one of the ones they cover on that.

I did hear from a friend of mine at the fan that they are making time changes, but it wasn't sure who would move to what time slot, and what would come or not come into a new time slot.

And since a commercial for the D.P show was heard on the fan it would make since that whatever time Dan's show is on would fit perfectly with the time changes.

If live, that would mean Dan Patrick from 8am-11am. But even if they run it one hour behind..maybe 9am-12pm. If they make a move, I'd assume another change where Ben and Skin or Newy and Sean would be slid into the 6am-9am spot.
my ideal lineup
Ben and Skin 5am-8am or 9am and drop first hour of Dan Patrick
Dan Patrick 8am or 9am-11am live
Jim Rome 11am-2pm live
Newy and Sean 2pm-6pm---I know this overlaps Newy's sportscasts but similar setups are done deliberately in other markets for promotional purposes for the local news.
6pm-10pm any combination of Kevin Scott, Mike Rodriguez, Pete Stein, or anyone else filling time until Rangers or talking sports. It just doesn't matter at all. Maybe even Best of Ben and Skin?
10pm-5am Fox Sports radio but I would prefer Tony Bruno live over JT the Brick from 10pm-1am or whenever Rangers coverage ends. I believe Tony is distributed by Dan Patrick's company so that might be a possibility.
Weekends...as much live and local they can afford. Maybe involve Greg Hill and the 6-10pm fill-ins.

Well the DP show has been on The Thicket the last two nights, so looks like for now he's not going anywhere.

And dude Jim Rome? He has never done any good here. Whatever the Fan puts on local I'm sure will pull better numbers then Jim Rome

I like it, Tony Bruno is good, I like JT though so it would be difficult to choose. Other than that I like the schedule you got there.

I'm just going under the assumption that there were Dan Patrick ads running on 105.3. I didn't hear any but it does make much more sense for him to be on the fan. Dan Patrick is being pushed by premiere and fsr so I'm sure any clearance is better then 13 hour tape delay on The Ticket.

Yeah, makes much more sense for him to be on the station that's ranked #25 in the sports-talk demo (m25-54) than the station that is ranked #1 in that demo.

That makes PERFECT sense... ::)

As a fan of the Ticket, do you want taped Dan Patrick on from 9pm-12am? Would you prefer live Todd Wright?
I find it kind of insulting that a sports show could run on a delay so long that often it's previewing games that already ended. It's obviously just a paycheck for the Ticket to clear it in Dallas. That being said, it's not a bad show and so if there was an opportunity to run it live on another signal that would absolutely make more sense for both the Dan Patrick show and dfw listeners.

If you're coming from the perspective that the Ticket is anointed station and everyone else sucks and is doomed to fail, then there's really no point in arguing. If that's the case, have fun at summer bash! I don't hate or love any of the stations. I just want as many LIVE sports talk options as possible.

Yes the Dan Patrick Show is dated by the time it airs, and I am sure that The Content Factory knew that. At the time no one knew that KRLD-FM would be on the air. Do you think the folks in Bristol would let KESN air Dan Patrick instead of their own programming live. The Content Factory had no choice but to get that time slot on KTCK in order to have another top 10 market presence. Im sure when the contract is up, that the Content Factory will look at moving the show to KRLD-FM and vise versa.

I'd be highly suprised if they're getting paid to run it. Every network show is, plain and simple, about clearing inventory. More like the Ticket is saving money by running it (not having to pay Hunter and crew at night) rather than making money on it...

Depends on what they (Patricks people) are selling to their advertisers. Be interesting to see the difference between what the Ticket (#1 Men 25-54) draws at night versus what KRLD-FM (around 25th with M25-54) draws during the day. It might NOT make sense for Patrick to leave the Ticket, ridiculously long tape-delay or not...

Most syndicated show nowadays are mostly barter. If you listen right after The Hardline goes off the air, you will hear the Dan Patrick short feature(sorry I can't remember the name of it) and about 2-5 minutes of Dan Patrick voiced spots. I'm sure thats the daily network inventory KTCK agreed to carry when they picked up the show.

Does Premiere require Dan Patrick affiliates to run the "Above the Noise" featurette? It's a 2 minute segment that comes with two :30 net spots. I know they have "Rush Morning Update" and "Sean Hannity Morning Minute" mandates for each respective show.
