Dan Patrick to WEEI to fill-in?

Did I read right that Dan Patrick of (ESPN Fame) will fill-in for the "locked out" Dennis and Callahan next week? I thought i read it on The Boston Globe's website.

Yes and also Boston Sports Media Watch; Herald had it too. Patrick is in between jobs (new
syndie gig starting soon, last ESPN show is tomorrow). _Someone_ has to fill in for D&C while all this goes on.

BSMW: "UPDATE: 9:17 AM, Thursday: While the [Herald] Track Gals are naming Dan Patrick by name, it's still not etched in stone that DP will be in the NB building all week long. Further, it's hard to fathom where the Gals are getting their info that Jackie Mack and Bob Ryan are being considered for roles at 'EEI - the Globe ban on writers at the station is still in effect last we checked."

Unless McMullen and Ryan are eyeing buyouts from the paper? Wouldn't apply if they no longer work
for El Globo. Thought that may not happen.

Would be nice to give Dan Patrick a time slot on WEEI. As he isn't working for ESPN Radio anymore. Many sports fans like Dan Patrick on the radio.

I've said there is plenty of talent to fill out a 6-man roster and obviously Patrick has a gig, but ESPN collegue Chuck Wilson doesn't and I'd like to see him get a shot.
And props to Bob Valvano for saying that the people in Bristol treat 50yo.'s as if they have leprocy.
I'm not sure how important it is to acquire the top half of NE as a market but the franchise keeps getting stronger.
As for the people at ElGlobo I'm sure they would take a buyout in a heartbeat if they could get it. But I wouldn't think Jackie would be a strong candidate at all.

Wilson hasn't been at ESPN for a while, he's been hosting evenings on XM's baseball channel
