Dan Potter Filling in this Week on KLIF

I have been hearing Dan Potter this week filling in on "The Wells Report" and it's good to hear him. Dan, if you visit these boards, it's good to hear you my friend. I just wish you were on the airwaves on a more regular basis. Great job filling in this week.

Now, us inquiring listeners want to know, is JD really taking a vacation? The man even works holidays for heaven's sake! All kidding a side, very much well deserved time off for him. Hope he is relaxing or at least trying to. So, very nice job this week Dan and, on the other hand, hurry back JD. We all miss you (especially the 'Mrs' here. She is crazy about your voice ::) ). ;D

Because KLIF has always been cheap, and wont pay for decent talent....

i see this as another great opp....KLIF will find a way to blow it.....but, dan is a good newsman, but a better cook..that food show he did could generate some revenue. He does good endorsements as well...could be a good match.

DFW....Thanks for incredibly the nice words. Actually, I didn't want to go on vacation, but my Wonderful Susan took me aside one day and told me I was getting a bit frayed around the edges...This in response to my vivisecting a caller named Gary the other day. Poor guy, he disagreed with me about a passionate topic, and I took him out. (Sorry Man....Battle Fatigue. I didin't realize how much I needed to get away until I was gone...) Regarding the voice thing....Tell the Mrs. that I'm back on Monday, but please note: I really don't talk that way.

Kzew/Slam....All of us love Dan. We, (the indians) want this Dallas/Ft. Worth legend to fill in every chance we get. Personally, I'd like him to find an on-air home with us on KLIF. Speaking of which....

Talk2....Are you familiar with Gene Burns on KGO, San Francisco? He does an incredible show called "Dining Around". If Dan loves food, that might another way to get him "in the house...." I'll start nagging on Monday.

Sorry to shill. I'm just glad he's back. WHEW!

Thought we were going to a "Best of Wheels" next week with your favorite hair client and mine, Ed Wallace. 8)

Why not bring back Kevin McCarthy or David Gold?
Because neither of them have been relevant in this market for the last 5-10 (or even 15) years?

That would be my first guess anyway...

After all both those guys were good, when, in the late 80's/early 90's? But then between Rush on WBAP and the republican revolution in 94, and the Ticket coming on in 95 (?), didn't that pretty much prove how inconsequiental both of those guys were?

They may have stuck around later than the mid-90's, but hav ethe DONE anything since then? Besides host infomercials for car dealers?

Nah, I think Kev could do ok if given the right venue. Charley Jones has a decent niche on overnights; I see Kevin in the same vein as Charley...light on politics, heavy on just everyman-type stuff. Now finding him a station that's not politically polarized or too heavy handed...that's another dilemma.
