Dan Potter on KLIF

Anyone catch Dan Potter on KLIF? Waaaaay better than Jeff Bolton. Word is, Bolton's time off is being used to audition his replacement.
 
I doubt KLIF is ready for Dan's moderate leanings...but it'd be a breath of fresh air should this Fox affiliate let him do his thing. I know he's wanted a talk show of his own forever, and I think he'd do quite well. Of course, he was curbed from expressing his real political views at WBAP, but a put-up-or-shut-up attitude keeps the paychecks coming in!

When's Bolton's shift? I thought most folks were content with him.
 
Bolton is KLIF's morning drive guy. He's the self-proclaimed Mayor of Commonsenseville who should call himself the Mayor of Ultrasuckville.

Potter was a news anchor at WBAP so his political leanings should have been kept to himself as a matter of presenting a fair news broadcast.
 
One word.....crock! Nothing but a pure rumor that they are auditioning a replacement for Jeff Bolton. Nothing could be further from the truth. He is probably taking some very well deserved time off after his trek to Iraq. KLIF is VERY content with Bolton and he does a GREAT job! I follow a lot of you around the boards and it seems like you all have nothing but sour grapes for everyone. What stations are you all on so I may tune in to them and listen to you all do a better job than everyone else. KLIF is sounding better than it has for a very long time. With Bolton in the morning and J-D Wells in the afternoons, KLIF is on its' game! :D
 
I agree and the politcal leanings should be left out a newscast,but considering KLIF is a FOX AFFIlLIATE,fat chance that will happen.Dan is a good newscaster,but as mentioned before by him and others he wants to be a HOST. If its KLIF,then it would be a vast improvement over what they have now which is scrap at the bottom of a barrel.

When a guy has been an integral part of a highly successful show for 17 YEARS, there must be something about that to reccomend him. As hard as it is to establish a new host, wouldn't it make sense to bring in a guy who is already familiar and well-liked by a large percentage of North Texas's listeners? I can't speak to the appeal of Bolton or Wells. I can say that Dan is a smart, talented, experienced and popular personality, and would be a good addition to a station's line-up. The race to the bottom is over. It's time to re-build radio. To do that, you need a pro like Mr. Potter.
