He's doing the morning news on KRLD. He doesn't sound as awake and full of energy as he did on WBAP. I guess that he was doing the same thing that I was doing last night. Some of those toys can be a real pain in the butt to put together.
 
Very weird hearing him on KRLD. Does this mean he's still searching for a full-time job?

He did the morning show Monday and he's filling in for the mid-day show while they're on vacation until the new year. I have to admit, I think he sounds better than Ernie and Spanky.
 
Very true, believe me, I've had that exact thought. I think KRLD should just put another 5 hour run of "Best Of" Russ Martin on in that time slot. Give Gavin more coverage since he's content being a bit character on that show. It'll put him in the spotlight more at his "other" station.
 
Naw, dan potter deserves better than this market, seeing how every station manager he's worked for has wasted his talent.

Personally, I enjoy listening to them. Not quite sure why
everyone is so down on them. Considering our other options,
not many choices. All syndicated BS mostly from right
wing whacko jobs, blowhards, or religious freaks so tight
a**ed and prude they squeak when they walk. E & J are
very middle of the road, IMO. Sure, they'll get opionated
quite often (as everyone that does talk radio does), but
I find myself agreeing with them most of the time (more
Ernie than Jay). They're live, local and topical. Mark Davis
is local too up to a point. But there's always that political
spin he puts on everything. Gets real old after awhile.

Staying on the topic of Potter, I wish him the best of luck
at 1080. Overall, he's a very good guy. Demanding and
cocky sometimes if you have to work with him, but good.
He really enjoyed the times he filled in for Hal at 'BAP
because it allowed him to get out of his "news mold" for
awhile, and do a little more talking than just headlines,
weather, and traffic intros. I say give him a chance at
the talking part. Who knows..., he may surprise us all.
 
Ernie and Jay is five hours of pure nothingness, they tank after 10am and run out of steam. How you can do that when you only have 32-35 minutes of talk time an hour is beyond me. Is that a sign of how much (or little) prep they do?
