It was a combination of things. Sileo did not have any knowledge of any team in the Miami region except the University of Miami football team, he was considered an unknown outsider with no media experience in the market and he made the dumbest comments about any subject. The suspension over his twitter remarks and being released from Hurricanes broadcasts certainly did not help. In addition, the sales manager at WQAM was allowed to make programming decisions and hired him last year. He was let go by the station on February 12, so there went the guy with the security blanket who backed Sileo from the beginning.
