Dan Swander

Thanks, guys. I'm flattered that anyone remembers me :) . I've been back at Metro Networks for about a year and a half, but just started doing traffic on Mix 97.1. I'm doing news, weather, and traffic on a half dozen stations.

When Angie left, I inherited 97.1 mornings. I was already doing their afternoons. Her other stations were picked up by a couple of other reporters.

Welcome to Dan.

Now, I hope 97.1 finally works on  its music.  Major retooling needed.  That great signal actually sunk below a 3 in the latest trend.  What a waste!  New morning show alone didn't do the the trick the last 17 times, and sure won't do the trick this time.  Hope they're finally getting the message. If the Winter book is any indication, they're sinking a lot in-demo, too.

When I did mornings at Oldies B97, our PD asked Dan to use the name Sgt. Pepper for our traffic reports. He and I had so many laughs on the air. Dan is/was a very funny guy.

I am soooo happy to hear Dan back on the radio as well. Danny is a great guy with an awesome sense of humor. We missed you Dan!

It is always good to hear Dan. I called him one time back in 1974 I think at WCVO asking for a job and he was very honestwith me. He humbled me and helped me figure out that maybe I wasn't radio's gift I probably thought I was at the age of 19. Even though I mentioned to him I was blind, he never mentioned it and never treated me like I was any different from anyone else. I've come to realize that being in radio is a gift to me, not the other way around.
