Taylor does a pretty good job as a single-man morning show but I do believe in this day and age Taylor should have a partner to banter with and discuss stuff with. As it stands all he has is Mr. G and those chats last all of 60 seconds. Most morning shows in this era have two hosts to inject discussions. The Z100 morning zoo, Jim Kerr and Shelli Sonnenstein, Whoopi and Cuddy, Karen and Christine, Jim and Kim, Phathead and Cande Roth and Mark and Cindy. CBS is doing a good job of balancing the classic tone of the stone but modernizing itself with fresher 80's music. If they want to fully embrace the current era they really need someone for Taylor to hang with.

Dan Taylor at CBS should have a partner

Back in 2003-4, Karen Stewart was Dan Taylor's partner in AM drive. She was relly terrible, so I don't suggest he have a partner. Likewise in early 2005 Mike Fitzgerald should have done morning drive by himself. Micky Dolenz, a radio rookie, was more of a hindrance than help. It does seem that CBS radio is trying to cut costs as much as it can. For example voice tracking the overnights save money over having a live DJ. I doubt very much Dan Taylor will have a partner.

Thank goodness they are daring to be different. Dan Taylor is perfect on his own. I don't need a lot of noise and confusion in the morning.

Harry did not have a sidekick. Just as Dan Taylor, Harry used to have some banter with Mr. G at weather time but no sidekick. Dan Taylor is a great talent and a great voice, I enjoy listening to him on computer from up here in MA. I say leave him just the way he is. If you need sidekicks and Zoo formats there are pleanty of alternatives. Don't mess with a formula that works.
Dan Taylor does not need a partner. He is doing a great job without a partner. He has the same arrangement as Harry Harrison had for years on CBS-FM with Mr. G. He had a partner before when he was teamed with Karen Stewart and it did not work. You do not fix anything when it is not broken so I would leave everything the way it is now.
