dan york crying real tears on-air

Dan the man.. the "big softie" had a breakdown on the radio? I wonder if some manly softie will make fun of his breakdown as he did with Patrick Kennedy?
If he's breaking down it's because his time in Providence on PRO is up.

I believe your right on this.Carolyn Fox being fired by Ron St. Piere and then jumping to WWRX.Remember her and Rudy doing the TV spot with Duct Tape on Carolyns mouth because she could not talk on another station because of a Non Compete clause. That was a funny spot. She later won in court and Ron ended up with Egg on his face.

The case I recall was back in the 1960's but I can't remember who was involved. Likely the case you reference drew upon the precedent set by the earlier one.

Don't know if there is a non-compete law is in Rhode Island now, but there that law was in my situation. I had a broadcast lawyer representing me. I believe now, there is no longer a non-compete law in Mass.( You cannot deny a person a right to make a living) Don't know in Rhode Island.
But I believe, contract, or no contract, if they want you out there is usually some loop hole buried deep in the contract that gives them that right.

Contracts always can be broken!

Yeah... if you don't mind paying the penalty. NBC won't even pay Conan his 40 Million if he badmouths them in the next 7 months. Sometimes it's in your best interest to not break a contract.
